Holes-louis sachar

significance
i chose this book because i read it a few years ago, but i forgot the plot, so i decided to read it again, i realized a few things i didn't see last time, i just thought that it was just 2 story lines, but it really was that the past story of Eyla yelnats, which is stanley's great great grandfather, affects stanley more than just cursing him to camp green lake, but hey, i was in 3rd grade then.
perspective
this story takes place in a modern 1990 type era, something similar to our time, time of obese kids, thievery, and homeless people, and where the innocent get sent to a juvenile camp 100 miles away from civilization, filled vwith young teenagers deciding to be bad, just like us.
evidence
this can possibly happen, exept for the curse, that might never happen, but a kid
being falsely blamed for stealing shoes and being sent a juvenile camp for 18 months, not breaking news.
connection
it doesn't inspire me to read that much, but it's telling me that i am forgetful and should reread some of the books i've read earlier again. Since i forgot it, it will be just as exciting when i read it last time.
supposition
if this took place in the time of lord of the rings, then only some of the storyline will change, instead of being accused of stealing shoes, he'll be accused of stealing excalibur, and instead of being sent to camp green lake, he'll be sent to....
MORDOR!!!
and instead of turning him into a good person, they'll turn him into a orc! And the author will replace zero with gollum or a baby dragon. And the release the curse, the orc'd Stanley would probably have to let it drink from the lava of mount. doom insted of having to drink from a spring.

HENRY AND RISBY, Beverly Cleary

SIGNIFICANCE

This book is really important to kids who have pets that get in trouble alot while every one of the kids luagh at them. I think the author is trying to say do not make fun of kids just becuase they always seem to get in trouble just becuase there pets.

PERSPECTIVE

The author of this book is Beverly Cleary who use to be my favortie author. I think the authors experences was having kids make fun of (her/him) and they probley had a pet who always gets in trouble. Also in the book henry gets a bad haircut from his dad and he also loved fishing. He made a bet with his dad that if he kept his dog risby out of trouble for a hole month that henry's dad will take henry fishing which henry love's.

EVIDENCE

This book is not really about facts and evidence trying to make a case. This was a great fiction book through which I loved.

CONNECTION

This book was probley based around this era. After this event happened it effected henry becuase everyone wanted to be henry's friend. Becuase everyone throught henry's dog risby was bad becuase he bite the trashman. But henry went fishing then his dad made him sit on the beach becuase he and risby was making everyone drop fish especially his dad's friend. So henry and risby were walking on the beach then henry saw one of the biggest fish on the beach. Henry start drowning becuase the fish was dragging henry into the ocean. Risby jumped in and saved him. Everyone loved risby and everyone wanted to be henry's friend becuase he cuaght one of the biggest fish ever heared of.

SUPPOSITION

What I think is going to happen beyond this book is Henry grows up and gets tired of risby so he forgets and leaves him. Then henry runs away and noone ever notices intill the week after.

Hawks Hill by Allan W.Eckert

SIGNIFICANCE

This book is real important for everyone to read. It talks about a littile boy named Ben Mcdonald. He has speciol learning diabilities though so it was a hard life for the family watching him grow. He one day gets lost in the woods. It started on the lsat day of school when him an his 2 sisters on there way home from school. There oldest brother john was picking them up. When they were driving home an they ran into there parents worst enemys GEORGE BURTON! They saw him on the bridge to get to their house an it just goes from their an gets real exciting, I enjoyed it.

PERSPECTIVE

The author of this book is ALLAN W. ECKERT. This was happening of the time 1800's. What ALAN W. ECKERT did good is she described the settenings. When she spoke of george burton she said a dark black night eith a pouncy white smoothe trust steed. What everyone who reads this book should walk away with feeling of appreciating your family an what you got.

EVIDENCE

What I think the author was trying to describe was that indians are not evil people. Wen the littile boy got lost they took real good of him an every one that was not an indian thought they were redskin stupid people. The author supports it by talking abot them taking care of Ben Mcdonald the littile boy who got lost. They fed him then took him back to his home, when george burton the evil guy who kidnapped his mom, he (george burton) tryed to kill him. when every one saw that they all agreed that indians are not so bad.

CONNECTION

After all this happened it changed every one thought about indians an then they became friends. After I read this book it made me want to read more about indians an how they live. This probley changed alot because there would not let no one learn about the indians an we would have not knowen eany history about them.

SUPPOSITION

What I thought would have happened is bens family, friends, and neighbors came an attack the indians which was what they were planning. If i was in bens place I would tryed an run away becuase all that thry said about the indians I would ahve been really scared. If bens family never finds ben but they find out the indians did something to them, the indians an the civilized people would never be friends an they would be worse enimies. Today there would be some hatred btween some people.

The Return Of The Indian, By Lynne Reid Banks

SIGNIFICANCE
It teaches you about history from when the indians were here. You learn what idians wore back then. I chos this because I wanted to learn about indians an I also like books that talk abot war. Omri learns that people from different time lines doesn't get along most of the time. So just relates to history that not every gets along togeather and that is why some people should read this book.

PERSPECTIVE
This book was written by Lynne Reid Banks in 1921. Dedicated to all those who wrote to her giving ideas. She is just explaining history an some timelines are compaddible an some are not. The author was writting this along time ago an she learned alot about indians alot.

EVIDENCE
The lession would be if you try to learn about someone you can get along. Boone and little bear were from differrent timelines an at beggining they did not like each other an then they started to like each other an that is just what you have to do to learn about each other.

CONNECTION
It is from the years of what happens today but omri an his friend start putting in toys from back then. This book is a fiction book so it does not effect todays life today.

SUPPOSISTION
I had read an finished this book already so Iknow what happens but durring the war i thought that little bear and his wife were going to stay with ormri but i did not think that was going to heppen but they won the war an it was safe to return home.

The Trumphet Of The Swan by E.B. White

SIGNIFICANCE

This was speciol to me because it is different,it's not about people or regular animals. It is about a swan. Not a regular swan a trumphet swan. Which is known for the sound it can make but the swan ( louis ) can not make eany noise, that is like not being able to talk. How every truphet swan in the spring mates is by mmakeing the loudiest noise you can make. The authors theme was wven if your disabeled at something does not mean your life is over because if you keep trying to find ways to recover for that ability you do not have, but if you just give up an feel sorry for yourself like louis begain to do, then his dad got him a truphet to save him an pick-up his spirit. People should read this because it is a nmice inspiring story you can take a lot from this likemaking everything add up without stopping each promblem after each chapter.

PERSPECTIVE

The author eperince is what makes it better because she does not end a story in each chapter she tells it all leads up to one thing which makes it interesting. The author was E.B. White pulished in 1970. You would explain this to a third grader by saying how a trumphet swan could not make a sound which is like not even being able to talk which is bad so he gets a truphet an it was stolen so he works his lidepaying it off an that is when everybody realizes his abilities.

EVIDENCE

The evidence was in each chapter talking about something an it is all the samething witch leads up to the finish.

CONNECTION

There is no history it all happened in one timed .

Our Only May Amelia, Jennifer L. Holm

Significance

The book Our Only May Amelia is important for maybe girls saying they are as good as boys because May Amelia is the only boy in town. Everybody else is man. Except for the women who are married, because all of everybody just moved into town.
May is the only pioneer girl while every other girl in town is Irish an pioneers are not allowed to marry irises.
All of these events are important because while she was doing the events More an more people realized how girls were touth to. In one scene it was mays brother which she had seven of Wilbert the on she shares all her problems with while living in the same room which makes him Mays favorite, Matti who is super nice to her an the oldest, the dad loves him the best because he looks just like him, Karrlo who is really her cousin who is real mean to her but his mom was poor an had to leave one kid behind so she chose the oldest, Issiah, Wendell, Alvin an Ivan who really look after each other of the best of friends. This book is important to me because it shows a bunch poor people i n a little town making it together an with big families with the boys having to do alot for there families, while may amelia makes it out as the only girl when she gets a job that is not cooking and cleaning. I could not think of a real situation that this could happen. This storyn is probley not relivant o eanything except maybe books that show girls doing eanything boys can do. The positive stuff in this every family loved eached other, the negative at the end of the book alot of people in town got sick and died. All the readers should know this story because this was how they had live like in the old days

Perspective

Jenifer L. Holm crated this book,it was in 1899 right after slavery endeed. The author is a girl an the perspective is girls are good as anyone an they should also get the same jobs as anyone. The author does not say that girls are good a anyone but you could tell she was meaning it. If a boy was doing this they might think it was cool to live there because they will do everything with the boys and think it is fun. To third graders i would tell them about the only girl in town and she only had one real companion. My information for May Amelia that good job doing all that you have accomplished if i had approched this problem I would have done what I wanted to do an kept trying.

Evidence

Like I said the authors argument is what she had to grow up with which is girls do anything boys can. She did not use facts because her book is fiction. She proved her opinion by representing it over an over with the main person of the book May.
I do not have a argument an think everything is good at supporting her opinions.

Connection
This event that occured with May Amelia will have an effect on people in the near future will start to to realize that girls can do hardcore stuff. Also that to find new cure for medicine that almost took out the whole town. This effects us today because now girls have more masters degree an more jobs. Head bosses, people in office an lets of other stuff they were not allowed to do back in days which alot of eventions wich help us today. This does not affect my life or on eanbody elses life I know because those times are over. This great knowledge to know about the old times even though about a fiction story you can still learn about it. What i see in everyday life is fighting, people learning, getting arrested, people running having fun, being sad.

Suppostion

I predict since stuff like this has happen it will probly never happen again. The world would be different if stuff like this never happend. If this took place 2 years ago it would probley still be happening. I am glad i chose this book it was a good decision you should read this to you would be glad sad but my favorite thing LOL. WOUGH
